Originally known as the Wisconsin Home and Farm School, Lad Lake was established in 1902 as a place where troubled and neglected boys could acquire the strong values of personal responsibility and hard work and get back on the right track.
Today, Lad Lake is still guiding growth on those original 367 acres of land. Not only do they provide 24-hour treatment, education, and counseling for adolescent males, they also provide care, expertise and counseling for struggling girls and troubled families.
This project is one of the facilities on their expansive campus. A community gateway feature, designed by GDG with partner ZEBRADOG, is located on the northeast corner of Mequon and Cedarburg roads.
A former retail space was purchased and GROTH Design Group was asked to partner once again with the Senior Activity Center to transform a vacant building into a vital community asset. The new center, Uptown Social, serves as a main activity hub for the community.
