The Commodore- A Bartolotta Restaurant

A Historic Community Venue Reimagined | Hartford, WI

Originally established in 1902, The Commodore, a Bartolotta Restaurant, has been thoughtfully restored to honor its storied past while embracing a vibrant future. Once known as Heritage on the Lake and the Spirit of ’76 Resort & Disco, this iconic Lake Country destination has undergone a meticulous transformation that preserves its architectural charm and cultural significance.

The revitalized property now offers a dynamic suite of dining and event spaces, including a lakeside restaurant, intimate private dining rooms, and expansive outdoor areas.

The Grand Heritage Ballroom, located on the upper level, pays tribute to the building’s disco-era heyday and can be divided for versatile event use. The Baldwin Lounge, named after former owner Dave Baldwin, offers a cozy retreat with a fireplace and sweeping views of Nagawicka Lake.

The main level features multiple dining rooms with lake views, while Margo’s and Pepper’s private rooms nod to the beloved “Margo’s Pepper Tree” restaurant that once occupied the site. A spacious bar with indoor and patio seating enhances the guest experience.

Outdoors, the Pleasant View Pavilion and adjacent Fountain Patio provide picturesque settings for receptions and ceremonies. The addition of Club 1902, a members-only social club, fosters community connection and exclusivity.

What sets The Commodore apart is its seamless blend of historical preservation and modern elegance. The renovation maintained the building’s original footprint, incorporating historically inspired windows, refined landscaping, and a refreshed interior. The result is a timeless venue that bridges generations—where cherished memories are honored and new ones are made.

The Commodore stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design and community spirit, offering a place where history, hospitality, and heritage converge.
